MAY 9 — Just as I had predicted in last week’s preview, the English Premier League (EPL) will go into a title-deciding final weekend for the first time since 1999.
Chelsea did not let up on their pace as they achieved a convincing 2-0 win at St James’ Park on Monday, after Manchester United (MU) had done what they needed to do to pull off a 4-1 demolition of West Ham at Old Trafford last Saturday.
At this stage it would be unfair to take credit away from both teams. Kevin Keegan, after seeing his Newcastle charges lose to Chelsea, had this to say “you usually have one exceptional side – I think this year, you have got two and one of them has got to lose.” He nevertheless went on to back MU for the title. His reason? Cristiano Ronaldo!
